Beechwood Childcare sets out to provide a high standard of care and education for children, fostering each child’s individuality as they learn and grow.
The everyday routines and activities offered at Beechwood settings are structured in such a way that they adhere to the guidelines laid out in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Letters and Sounds. Our team of highly qualified childcare professionals plan activities and the structure of the day to encourage a child’s development against the key headings of Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Communication, Language and Literacy; Problem Solving; Reasoning and Numeracy; Knowledge and Understanding of the World; Physical Development; Creative Development. We also incorporate the Principles into Practice: A Unique Child; Positive Relationships; Enabling Environment; Learning and Development.
The Early Years Foundation Stage is a curriculum for children from birth to five years. However, Beechwood incorporate the principles of this curriculum into our Out of School Clubs for older children.
All of our nurseries are registered to receive the nursery education grant once children reach the age of three.
At Beechwood we believe that children learn best when they are doing something they enjoy and consequently learn best through play. We aim to offer many varied play opportunities to give children the chance to explore and experiment. In the early years we concentrate on promoting all areas of children’s development so as they grow they strengthen their physical abilities as well as their social skills. Included in each session for the older children are activities designed to enhance their preschool skills. This can include activities for pencil control, letter and number recognition, mathematical and scientific skills and much more.
Above all we hope to foster an interest and enthusiasm for learning through the use of activities that are not only of educational value, but also enjoyable, stimulating and fun for the children.
